Texas Border Business
EL PASO – The Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC) awarded The Borderplex Alliance with its 2021 Community Economic Development Award (CEDA).
The award recognizes “excellence and exceptional contributions to Texas communities in economic development.” The TEDC chose The Borderplex Alliance for its success in business attraction. Specifically, last year’s major jobs announcement of TJX Companies, Inc.’s new distribution center. The result of which was 1,000 new jobs and $150m in new investments in the region.
Jon Barela, CEO of The Borderplex Alliance, said, “Every project and every proposal is another opportunity to put our best foot forward as a region and show companies the compelling business case for the Borderplex region. I’m grateful to our investors, staff, and the TEDC for their belief in our mission as an organization.”
