EDINBURG– In support of the recent Shelter-at- Home Order# 20-11 issued by County Judge Richard Cortez on July 20, 2020, Hidalgo County Tax Assessor-Collector, Mr. Pablo (Paul) Villarreal, Jr. PCC, is joining in the effort to prevent and slow the spread of COVID-19.
Hidalgo County Tax Offices will undergo operational changes beginning Monday, July 27, 2020. A schedule of office operations is attached. Operating hours will remain Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. for the open offices.
“My highest priority during this pandemic has been the well-being of my staff and attempt to provide customers a safe and comfortable environment,” Villarreal said. “Unfortunately COVID-19 cases continue to increase and we have to implement a new schedule of operations throughout our offices in support of our County Judge’s new order.”
At this time residents are encouraged to use the alternative payment methods that are available to the public. To renew vehicle registration and receive your registration sticker by mail please visit www.texas.gov. Your receipt is proof. Online property tax payments can be made with e-check and credit cards. Please visit www.hidaglocountytax.org. Tax payments and renewals can be dropped off at county drop off boxes. You will receive your transaction receipts by mail.
