National Event Partners Local Public Safety Officials and Youth for Shopping Sprees
December 19, 2016 (Hidalgo, TX) – The Target Corporation will honor some superheroes from the Hidalgo community tomorrow, Tuesday, December 20th at 8 a.m. at the Target location located at Las Tiendas Shopping Center in McAllen. The event, which pairs local public safety officials and youth for an all-expenses paid shopping spree, will recognize Hidalgo Fire and Police officers along with 100 students from the Hidalgo community. Each student will receive a $100 gift card to brighten their holiday, courtesy of the Target Corporation. This comes during the city’s annual Festival of Lights, a Superhero Holiday in Hidalgo—a month-long holiday festival that this year is paying tribute to all superheroes!
“The City of Hidalgo couldn’t be more proud of its superheroes, both big and small,” said City Manager Julian Gonzalez. “These kids are superheroes as are the fire and police officials that will accompany them. We can’t thank the Target Corporation enough for recognizing them and their contributions to our city.”
