The goal of the Perkins Reserve Fund is to prepare students to enter high-skill, high-wage, in-demand positions. STC is the recipient of the monies through a partnership with the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Independent School District and Texas Workforce, which received a $700,000 total grant.

Rodriguez and Vice Chair Rose Benavidez were in attendance for “Shaping the Future”, a summit organized by Starr County Industrial Foundation (SCIF) to address key issues including infrastructure, healthcare, workforce, education, and industry in Starr County. Benavidez also serves as President of SCIF.
