Texas Border Business
RIO GRANDE VALLEY, Texas – The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) announced on Thursday that 56 student-athletes competing in the fall sports of cross country, soccer and volleyball and the winter sports of basketball and indoor track & field at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley have earned 64 Academic All-WAC honors.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year at the institution, have at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average, and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team’s contests.
Across the WAC, a total of 1,534 student-athletes in 12 sports, including football and men’s and women’s swimming & diving, were named to the list.
