PHARR, Texas – South Texas College’s Regional Center for Public Safety Excellence will host its annual Public Safety and First Responders Expo, an event designed to connect the community with professionals in law enforcement, firefighting, emergency medical services and related fields.
This free event provides students, aspiring professionals and community members the opportunity to explore career pathways, engage with first responders and take part in interactive public safety demonstrations. Attendees will also have the chance to connect with local departments, as well as state and federal agencies that frequently collaborate with the college, offering valuable insight into career opportunities.
Participating agencies will showcase specialized equipment and vehicles used in public safety, including armored units, motorcycle divisions and mounted patrols. The event will also feature hands-on experiences and advanced training technology, such as virtual reality simulations and interactive fire safety activities.
More than 200 high school students are confirmed to attend.
South Texas College is committed to creating pathways between education and careers in public safety by equipping students with the knowledge, training and industry connections needed to succeed. With a growing demand for first responders, STC prepares individuals to serve their communities through programs in Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, Fire Science and Emergency Medical Services.
This event provides a valuable opportunity for prospective students to connect with professionals from local, state and federal agencies, gain insight into the field and experience hands-on training.
By fostering preparedness and real-world learning, STC is helping develop the next generation of first responders and strengthening the safety of our communities.
