McALLEN, TEXAS – Following the retirement of Mr. Jesus “Chuy” Ramirez as South Texas College’s general legal counsel, after approximately 20 years of services, the Board of Trustees for South Texas College conducted a public solicitation for legal services in early 2021.
After a review of qualifications submitted by responding firms, the Board authorized the engagement of the Law Office of Javier Villalobos, P.C., on May 17, 2021, pending an interview and successful contract negotiations with Mr. Villalobos.
Having completed the interview and negotiation process, the College approved and authorized the execution of the legal services agreement with Villalobos on June 8, 2021.
The Board of Trustees of South Texas College welcomes Mr. Javier Villalobos, general counsel, and looks forward to working with him.
The Board expresses its sincere appreciation to Mr. Chuy Ramirez for his long service as general legal counsel, bond counsel, and additional guidance and representation of the College.On June 22, 2021, the Board welcomes Mr. Javier Villalobos to his first South Texas College Regular Board Meeting, where Mr. Villalobos attends his first formal Board representing the College as general legal counsel.
