Texas Border Business
RIO GRANDE CITY, Texas – The Starr Camargo Bridge Company (SCBC), a proud founding member of the Starr County Industrial Foundation (SCIF), is excited to announce a celebratory event commemorating the Starr Camargo Bridge Expansion Act PL 118-80. This transformative legislation, which aims to expand the international crossing linking Rio Grande City, Texas, to Ciudad Camargo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, was recently signed into law by President Biden, receiving bipartisan support in both chambers of Congress. This milestone allows for a multi-modal expansion that will generate significant opportunity for economic progress in Starr County and the Rio Grande Valley region.
The SCBC serves as a vital component of trade between the U.S. and Mexico that directly benefits our state and national economies. This new authority will further ensure the demands of cross-border trade are met, while creating American jobs and facilitating the uninterrupted flow of legitimate commerce.
The celebration will feature remarks from United States Congressman Henry Cuellar, Office of United State Senator John Cornyn, Starr County Judge Eloy Vera, Rio Grande City Mayor Gilberto Falcon, Customs and Border Protection-Trade Office Armando Taboada Jr., Assistant Director of Field Operations and Lic. A. Eduardo Garza Robles, President of the Uni-Trade Council.
