“The network issue has been resolved, and Starlink service has been restored. We understand how important connectivity is and apologize for the disruption”, Starlink
On July 24, 2025, Starlink users across the United States and several other countries experienced a significant service outage, leaving thousands temporarily disconnected. The disruption began at approximately 2:30 p.m. Central Time, and was reported by users from Texas, California, Canada, the United Kingdom, and even parts of Ukraine.
An alert banner on the Starlink app acknowledged the problem: “Starlink is currently experiencing a service outage. Our team is investigating.” While service has since been restored, as of Thursday evening, the company has not issued a public statement explaining the cause of the disruption.
Online platforms, such as DownDetector, tracked a sharp spike in connectivity issues during the outage, and user feedback on social media confirmed the widespread impact. Despite the brief nature of the disruption, the lack of transparency has left customers with lingering questions.
As Starlink plays a growing role in global connectivity, including in rural areas and critical infrastructure, the need for timely communication during service issues remains essential. For now, users are back online, but the silence from the company has yet to lift the cloud of uncertainty around what went wrong.
