Texas Border Business
Valleywide, Texas – Stamp Out Hunger continues to be a huge success with the help of the National Association of Letter Carriers, National Rural Letter Carriers’ Association, sponsors, and volunteers! Orendain & Dominguez Attorneys at Law and RGV College are co-sponsoring paper bags this year! Find out how to volunteer this year, contact Carla Lopez at (956) 682-8101 or sign up at www.foodbankrgv.com.
The Food Drive effort is the nation’s largest single-day drive. In 2017, 75 million pounds of food was collected, which brought the grand total of donations to more than 1.6 billion pounds of food collected since the drive began in 1992. Be on the lookout for brown paper bags that your letter carrier can provide. You can fill this bag with non-perishable foods and your letter carrier will pick them up from your mailbox Saturday morning, May 12. Please, no glass jars or opened packaging. All donations will stay right here in the Rio Grande Valley.
