McAllen, TX (May 5, 2015) – Congratulations are in order to approximately 5,700 South Texas College students who have earned their certificate, associate or bachelor’s degrees this spring 2015. Included in this record-breaking number are approximately 1600 dual enrollment students who earned certificate and associate degrees before graduating from high school.
Five commencement ceremonies will take place at the State Farm Arena starting Friday, May 15, through Saturday, May 16, in order to accommodate the more than 2700 graduates who are scheduled to participate.
Friday, May 15, ceremonies commence with Business & Technology – Information Technology at 11:00 a.m., followed by Liberal Arts at 3:00 p.m. and Social Sciences at 6:00 p.m.
Saturday, May 16, ceremonies commence with Bachelor’s Programs, Math & Science and Business & Technology at 10:00 a.m. followed by Nursing & Allied Health at 2:00 p.m.
“We could not be more proud of our students,” said Wanda Garza, STC vice president of student affairs and enrollment management. “Knowing the impact they are going to have on our workforce and the positive effects on our community is incredible. It’s what it’s all about.”
Friends and families who plan on attending a commencement ceremony are encouraged to arrive at the State Farm Arena as early as possible in order to secure seating. Tickets have been issued to graduates and will be collected from their friends and family members before entering.
