McAllen, Texas– The Gary Sinise Foundation’s Snowball Express flight departed from McAllen International Airport (MFE) via American Airlines on Saturday, December 13th, 2025. McAllen International airport was selected as a departure city for this holiday initiative that honors fallen first responder’s families.
“We are reminded of the immense courage, sacrifice, and enduring strength of our fallen heroes and the families they’ve left behind,” stated Mayor Javier Villalobos. “This send-off is a testament to our community’s deep gratitude and a promise that these heroes and their families are loved, supported, and never forgotten. We wish them an unforgettable experience filled with new memories and moments of joy”.

Now in its 20th year, the Snowball Express continues through the partnership between American Airlines and the Gary Sinise Foundation, flying more than 1,500 family members of fallen heroes to Orlando for a five-day experience at Disney World. This special trip offers a meaningful week of holiday joy, healing, and togetherness—reflecting the Foundation’s commitment to ensuring that the families of our nation’s heroes are honored and never forgotten.
