Smugglers Continue to Inundate Border Patrol with Large Groups

EDINBURG, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) Sector encountered three large groups of illegal aliens who turned themselves over to agents.

On Friday, McAllen agents working near Granjeno, Texas, observed a large group of suspected illegal aliens walking north of the Rio Grande. Upon arrival, Border Patrol agents encountered 102 men, women and children from Central America, Ecuador and Mexico.

Similarly on Saturday, Weslaco agents working near Pharr, Texas, responded to a report of suspected illegal aliens walking north of the Rio Grande. Responding agents located the group of 140 illegal aliens consisting of family units and unaccompanied children from the countries of El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Honduras.

The following day, McAllen agents working in Hidalgo, Texas, observed a large group of suspected illegal aliens congregate near a local business. As transportation arrived for the group, agent counted a total of 136 illegal aliens, primarily consisting of family units, from the countries of Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Cuba.

Border Patrol is processing the subjects accordingly.
