Smugglers Continue to Inundate Border Patrol with Large Groups

EDINBURG, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Rio Grande Valley Sector encountered several large groups of illegal aliens.

Late Thursday night, McAllen Border Patrol Agents responded to the report of a large group of illegal aliens near La Joya, Texas. Upon arrival, agents located a group of 224 illegal aliens mainly comprised of family units and unaccompanied children from Central America.

The following day, Starr County Sherriff’s Deputies and Roma PD Officers requested the assistance of Broder Patrol with a group of 145 illegal aliens in Roma, Texas. Border Patrol took custody of the group, comprised of family units and unaccompanied children from the countries of Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Ecuador.

Later that day, agents apprehended another group of 294 illegal aliens near Roma, Texas. Agents determined the illegal aliens are from the countries of Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Cuba.

On Sunday morning, agents working near Rio Grande City apprehended a group of 170 illegal aliens comprised of family units, unaccompanied children and single adults from Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Cuba

Border Patrol is processing the subjects accordingly.
