Slim Chickens opened the doors of its newest restaurant in McAllen, Texas on Wednesday, September 8, 2017; it is just south of the McColl and Nolana intersection, next to the Starbucks. The franchise owners are a father and son duo, Jamal and Abdul Hamideh who were so committed to bringing more Slim Chickens to the area that they opened the week following Hurricane Harvey despite its setbacks.
The two other locations run by Hamideh are located in Edinburg and Weslaco. All three restaurants opened in the 2017 calendar year, proving the dedication of the local restauranteurs to build quickly and serve the growing demand for the brand in the area.
To celebrate the McAllen opening, the Hamidehs offered guests giveaways such as Slim Chickens swag and gear, and free meals for each person who posted on social media about the excitement.
Slim Chickens is famous for its tenders and wings, the best in town. On top of that, they serve meals throughout the flavor spectrum including salads, Texas-shaped chicken and waffles, and Southern comfort-focused sides and drinks.
