MISSION, TEXAS — Killam Development marked the launch of Sharyland Business Park with a ribbon-cutting and announcement ceremony in Mission, highlighting the project’s importance as a significant industrial investment and catalyst for long-term economic growth in the city.

Cliff Killam, president and CEO of Killam Development, delivered remarks during the ceremony, emphasizing the scale of the development and its role in supporting business activity, job creation, and trade in the region.

“For more than a hundred years, Killam Companies has proudly served South Texas and the border region,” Killam said. “We remain rooted here because of the amazing people, culture, energy, and the enormous potential of the region.”

Sharyland Business Park is a 175-acre industrial development with approximately $8 million invested in infrastructure. When complete, the park is expected to generate about 2.5 million square feet of industrial space, representing an estimated $275 million in total investment.

“And of course, all the jobs that will come along with that,” Killam said.

The business park includes 15 industrial lots ranging in size from four to 25 acres. Killam said the response from businesses has already been strong, with several lots under contract or generating interest at the early stages of the project.

The importance of the park, Killam said, is closely tied to its location in Mission.

“The location is unmatched,” he said. “Just minutes from the Anzalduas International Bridge, access to Interstate 2 via the Anzalduas Highway, and only eight miles from McAllen International Airport.”

Killam said the park is designed to support logistics, manufacturing, cold storage, distribution, and technology-driven operations, industries that depend on efficient access to transportation and regional connectivity.

“These are industries that drive job investment opportunities on both sides of our border,” he said.

He also pointed to bigger development plans in the area, noting that the Sharyland Business Park is part of a larger vision for growth along the Anzalduas corridor.

“With a nearly 1,000-acre park planned, the entire corridor is becoming one of the most exciting new centers for economic growth and trade in the nation,” Killam said.

Killam stressed that the project reflects a strong partnership between the private sector and local and regional organizations. The City of Mission, the Mission Economic Development Corporation, and the Greater Mission Chamber of Commerce supported the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

“None of this happens without collaboration,” Killam said.

He also thanked Mission Mayor Norie Garza, Teclo Garcia, Mission EDC leadership, and community partners for welcoming Killam Development into the city’s long-term economic plans.

“They’ve included us in their vision of economic development and prosperity for Mission, Texas, and the Rio Grande Valley region.” He continued, “We’ve invested approximately about $75 million in the Mission area, and we’re just getting started,” he said.

He closed his remarks by thanking partners and community leaders for their support of the project.

“We look forward to the growth and opportunities that Sharyland Business Park will bring and represent,” Killam said. “We’re just getting started together.”
