EDINBURG – Seven more people in Hidalgo County tested positive for the COVID-19 virus bringing the total number of positive cases to 242 people, Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez said.
Three others were released from isolation meaning they have shown no symptoms for ten days or had a fever in the last three days. That brings the total number of people released from isolation to 45.
Twenty-eight people are in area hospitals with COVID-19 related illnesses; six of them are in intensive care units.
The mayors of each affected community have been notified as has the Hidalgo County Commissioners, Judge Cortez said. Each of the seven people testing positive, as well as members of their household, have been ordered to isolate themselves. There will be no additional information about these patients.
