SAN JUAN, Texas – PSJA Early College High School Powerlifting athlete Ramiro Yañez signed a letter of intent on May 31 to continue his powerlifting career at the collegiate level at Midland University.
Yañez has been awarded and recognized multiple times for his outstanding powerlifting performances. The following are some of his accomplishments in the sport during his tenure as a PSJA Early College High School Bear.
- WABDL (World Association of Bench & Dead lifters) 9 State records, 4 National, and 4 world records.
- Regional deadlift record
- Regional squat record
Ramiro plans on majoring in Biology and minoring in chemistry while at Midland University in hopes of becoming a pharmacist.
