SAN JUAN, Texas – PSJA Early College High School Senior Kaylah Hernandez signed a letter of intent to continue her basketball career at Howard Payne University on April 12, 2022.
“I did better than I expected during my first year, and I just kept growing…now the love for the game continues to grow until this day. To play with a new team in a new place sounds so exciting yet nerve-wracking, yet I know that all of my experiences at PSJA Early College High School have prepared me for the next level,” said the Senior.
Kaylah has been named to the 31-6A 1st Team All-District and has been the 31-6A District MVP for four consecutive years. The following are some of her accomplishments in the sport during her tenure as a PSJA Early College High School Lady Bear.
- 30-6A Newcomer of the Year
- 2nd Team All-Area
- 1st Team All-Area (Sophomore)
- 1st Team All-Area (Junior)
- NBA D-League Vipers All Valley Showcase
- Best of the Best Show Down
- 1st Team All-Valley (Senior)
Kaylah will be studying kinesiology while at Howard Payne University in hopes of becoming a physical therapist to give back to the athletic community.
