PHARR, Texas – PSJA Southwest Early College High School Powerlifting Athlete Alexia Zapata signed a letter of intent to powerlift for the University of Texas San Antonio on May 6, 2022. 

“I would like to thank my coach Pete Lozano because at the beginning of the season he really pushed me and he has been here for the past three years, he took me to state, I got state champion and now we’re here I am signing to a university to compete at the collegiate level so it really all goes to him,” said the Senior.

Alexia Zapata was named the Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Association State Champion this season.
