It’s quite an accomplishment and a milestone when a small business that started in the Rio Grande Valley celebrates 135 years in business.  Texas State Senator Juan (Chuy) Hinojosa was in Edinburg on July 15 to make a special presentation to Edwards Abstract and Title Co.

Senator Hinojosa visited with the Edwards Management Team, staff and guests who attended a special ceremony that was held at the Edwards Corporate Office. The Senator made a presentation of a Texas flag that was flown over the State Capital on July 4, 2015 as a tribute to Edwards Abstract and Title Co.

Senator Hinojosa also presented a certificate commemorating the 135th Anniversary of Edwards Abstract and Title Co.  The legacy of service that the company has established is primarily due to the fact that it has remained locally owned and operated by people of the Valley and that serve the communities that they live in.

The Senator’s comments focused on the importance of the dedication and service of long time employees who are an integral part of the Edwards Team. “You are the ones who have contributed to the success of this company,” said Senator Hinojosa.

During the presentation ceremony, Byron Jay Lewis, Chairman of the Board and C.E.O. accepted the commemorative gifts on behalf of the Edwards Team.  He was honored and appreciative of Senator Hinojosa’s gesture. “Senator Hinojosa understands the role that small business plays in the Texas economy. He has been an important leader and advocate of the real estate industry,” said Byron Jay Lewis.
