WASHINGTON – After U.S. Senator Cornyn (R-TX) called on the Senate not to adjourn for its scheduled August state work period, U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) today announced the Senate will stay in session next week to continue negotiations on the next coronavirus relief bill.  Earlier this week Sen. Cornyn was the first member to call on the Senate to stay in session:

“There’s no reason we can’t come together and reach an agreement to get relief on the way to those who need it most,” Said Sen. Cornyn. “The stakes are high, and I’m glad the Senate will stay in session until we’re able to deliver the relief that our country needs.”
