At Garza-Peña Elementary, the campus took a united approach, committing to participating in the Challenge and living healthier lives.

“We held a campus wide registration event in which we provided healthy snacks such as oatmeal, a medley of fruits, yogurt, Skinny Pop popcorn,” said Principal Judith Canales. ”We extended our efforts into our student body by holding random wellness and fitness activities during elective times. We feel it is important to not only educate ourselves on the importance of living a healthy lifestyle, but to also set the example to our little ones so they can make the best decisions for themselves.”
