On Wednesday, November 17, 2021, the City of Weslaco Chamber of Commerce hosted their annual Awards Luncheon at the Memory Blvd. Event Center in downtown Weslaco, TX. During the Awards Luncheon the Chamber awards local businesses, organizations and individuals who have demonstrated leadership and made substantial contributions to the city.
Sandra Charlton was recently named Woman of the Year for 2021 by the Weslaco Chamber of Commerce. During her recognition the Chamber stated, “Charlton is a strong and motivated leader with a passion for helping others and serving her community”.
“I am truly honored to be awarded the Woman of the Year for 2021,” stated Charlton, “I am passionate in seeing Weslaco grow and thrive.”
Sandra Charlton currently serves on the Economic Development Corporation (EDC) Board as Treasurer, she is an active ambassador and champion for small businesses and is an avid volunteer in the City of Weslaco. Charlton is the owner of a CPA firm in the City of Weslaco.
“To have an individual that is part of the EDC Board to receive this prestigious award, it signifies the caliber of board members that serve on the EDC Board,” states Benita R. Valadez, EDC Board President.
