Listed below are the sites that are distributing sandbags for this week’s rainy weather. We will keep you updated as more become available. So, if you do not see your city listed. Please check back later, or call your local city offices. They will be happy to help.

The City of McAllen will be issuing sandbags today until 7 PM and Tuesday and Wednesday from 7 AM to 7 PM, weather permitting, for McAllen residents at the City of McAllen Recycling Center, located at 4101 N. Bentsen Rd.
Residents must show proof of residency, including a valid ID or a current utility bill.

Sandbag distribution will be self-serve and residents will be limited to six sandbags each and 12 for business.

Sandbags will be distributed until the Recycling Center runs out.

For emergency situations, citizens should call 9-1-1.  

For non-emergency assistance, citizens may call (956) 681-1234.

Precinct 3 will be holding a sandbag distribution for residents of Precinct 3 today, Monday, June 17, from 11:00 AM until 7:00 PM or while supplies last. Residents can pick up sandbags at the following locations:

Sullivan City Substation
1429 El Pinto Rd
Sullivan City, TX
La Homa Road & 107
2894 W. Mile 7 Road
Mission, TX
La Mansion
2401 Moorefield Rd
Mission, TX

We encourage all Precinct 3 residents to take advantage of this opportunity to prepare for any potential weather events.

In anticipation of potential tropical storm development in the Gulf, Cameron County has established designated sandbag distribution sites across the county. Residents are urged to take advantage of this opportunity to prepare for possible inclement weather. Sandbags are pre-filled and ready for pickup.

The sandbag distribution locations are:
• Commissioner Precinct 1 Warehouse: 2050 S. Browne Ave., Brownsville, TX 78521
• Commissioner Precinct 2 Warehouse: 7092 Old Alice Road, Brownsville TX 78521
• Commissioner Precinct 3 Warehouse: 26945 FM 510, San Benito, TX 78586
• Commissioner Precinct 4 Warehouse: 26623 White Ranch Road, La Feria, TX 78559

Residents may pick up six sandbags per household today, Monday June 17, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. through 8:00 p.m. or until supplies last. Residents are strongly encouraged to take necessary precautions during hurricane season. Stay informed by monitoring local news outlets and the Cameron County website. CITY OF BROWNSVILLE

To support residents in preparing for the weather event, the City of Brownsville will offer a sandbag distribution on Tuesday, June 18, between 9:00 AM and 1:30 PM at the following locations:

  • Fronton Warehouse, 298 McNair Drive (formerly known as E. Fronton), Brownsville, Texas 78520
  • City of Brownsville’s Public Works Office Building C, 6035 Jaime J. Zapata, Brownsville, Texas 78521

Residents and businesses are eligible to receive up to six (6) sandbags per household. A utility bill and an identification card is required to receive sandbags. 

Residents are strongly encouraged to register for the City’s Emergency Alert System, designed to provide timely and critical information to keep the community informed and safe, especially as hurricane season begins. The emergency messaging system will deliver alerts directly to registered residents. Sign up for notifications at www.BrownsvilleTX.gov

CITY OF PHARR

Sandbag Delivery Now Available for Pharr Residents Requiring Extra Assistance Starting TODAY, 6/18 at 1 PM

Pharr, Texas – The City of Pharr is extending sandbag distribution sites and adding a delivery option for elderly and disabled residents.

The sandbag distributions will take place TODAY, June 18, 2024, from 1 pm to 5 pm at the Pharr EMS Headquarters located at 3000 N Cage Blvd, and at the Development & Research Center located at 850 W. Dicker Rd.  
To request sandbag delivery please contact Pharr Public Works at (956) 402-4350.

Six (6) sandbags will be available for each household, and twelve (12) will be available for businesses. Residents and businesses owners must show proof of residency such as a utility bill.

Bags and shovels will be provided for self-service. Staff will be available for those needing assistance.

All media and the public are invited to attend.
