Listed below are the sites that are distributing sandbags for this week’s rainy weather. We will keep you updated as more become available. So, if you do not see your city listed. Please check back later, or call your local city offices. They will be happy to help.

The City of McAllen will be issuing sandbags Friday, July 5 and Saturday, July 6 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., both days, weather permitting, for McAllen residents at the City of McAllen Westside Softball Complex (Westside Park), located at 1000 S. Ware Rd.

Residents must show proof of residency, including a valid ID or a current utility bill.

Sandbag distribution will be self-serve and residents will be limited to six sandbags each and 12 for business.

For emergencies, citizens should call 9-1-1.  

For non-emergency assistance, citizens may call (956) 681-2000.  For information, please call (956) 681-3111.

In anticipation of Hurricane Beryl, Cameron County has established designated sandbag distribution sites

across the county. Residents are urged to take advantage of this opportunity to prepare for possible

inclement weather. Sandbags are pre-filled and ready for pickup.

The sandbag distribution locations are:

• Commissioner Precinct 1 Warehouse: 2050 S. Browne Ave., Brownsville, TX 78521

• Commissioner Precinct 2 Warehouse: 7092 Old Alice Road, Brownsville TX 78521

• Commissioner Precinct 3 Warehouse: 26945 FM 510, San Benito, TX 78586

• Commissioner Precinct 4 Warehouse: 26623 White Ranch Road, La Feria, TX 78559

Residents may pick up six sandbags per household tomorrow, Wednesday, July 3, 2024, from 8:00 a.m.

through 5:00 p.m. or until supplies last. Residents are strongly encouraged to take necessary precautions

during hurricane season. Stay informed by monitoring local news outlets and the Cameron County website.

City of Brownsville to Hold Sand
Distribution Today at Three Locations The City of Brownsville will provide the sand and the bags. Residents will need to bring
their own shovels and fill their own bags. BROWNSVILLE, Texas (July 5, 2024) – As the Rio Grande Valley braces for possible significant rainfall this weekend from Hurricane Beryl, the City of Brownsville is helping
residents take measures to protect their home and/or business. In preparing for the upcoming weather event, the City of Brownsville will offer sandbag distribution today, Friday, July 5, 2024, starting at 3:30 p.m., and until supplies last. The City of Brownsville will provide the sand and the bags. Residents will need to bring their
own shovels and fill their own bags.
The sand distribution will occur at the following locations:
Fronton Warehouse, 298 McNair Drive (formerly known as E. Fronton), Brownsville,
Texas 78520
Morningside Park, 1207 Central Avenue, Brownsville, Texas 78521
Monta Bella Trails Park, 2485, W. Alton Gloor Bivd, Brownsville, Texas 78520 Residents and businesses are eligible to receive up to six (6) sandbags per household. No
identification will be needed at these fill your own sandbag sites. In addition, residents are strongly encouraged to register for the City’s Emergency Alert
System. This system provides timely and important information to keep the community


This upcoming Friday, Precinct 3 will be hosting a self-service sandbag distribution from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. (or while supplies last) at the following locations:

La Homa Road & 107

2894 W. Mile 7 Road

Mission, TX

La Mansion

2401 Moorefield Rd

Mission, TX

Due to high demand, we are limiting sandbags to 4 bags per resident. Ready-to-go sandbags will be available for elderly and disabled residents. If you have any questions, please contact Precinct 3 at (956)585-4509.
