AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott today announced that Navistar, Inc. will establish a new truck manufacturing facility in San Antonio, Texas. Navistar is an international manufacturer of International® brand commercial trucks, proprietary diesel engines, and IC Bus® brand school and commercial buses, as well as a provider of service parts for trucks and diesel engines. The project will create more than 430 new jobs and $250 million in capital investment. A Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) grant of $2,272,400 has been extended to Navistar, Inc.
“This investment by Navistar is paramount to Texas’ success in growing our diverse and highly skilled manufacturing workforce,” said Governor Abbott. “The Lone Star State is the new frontier in innovation and I am confident that this partnership will usher in even greater economic prosperity for our state.”
