Sabrina Walker Hernandez to Serve as Honorary Chair for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Edinburg RGV “Steak” In Your Community Event

Edinburg, Texas – Boys & Girls Clubs of Edinburg RGV has selected Sabrina Walker Hernandez to serve as an honorary chair for this year’s annual “Steak” In Your Community event.

In her role as President & CEO of Supporting World Hope Sabrina provides consulting services & helps nonprofit organizations in the areas of building and managing development programs, capital campaigns, major gift fundraising, board development, marketing, and public relations. Sabrina most recently served Boys & Girls Clubs of Edinburg RGV for over 20 years and led the organization as the CEO from 2005 until her retirement in 2019. Ms. Hernandez previously served as Vice President of Operations and Teen Court Coordinator.  She is passionate about the mission of Boys & Girls Club.

Sabrina serves as a master national trainer for Boys & Girls Clubs of America which allows her to facilitate workshops and training at Clubs across the country. She has served on the Board of Directors for Edinburg Rotary and the Texas Partnership for Out of School Time.  She recently earned her Certification of Nonprofit Management from Harvard Business School.  Sabrina received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas-Pan American and a master’s degree in Public Administration.

“Steak” In Your Community is held annually, with the goal of raising funds to support youth development programs at the Boys & Girls Clubs and the Youth-of-the-Year scholarship program. The event includes a fast-paced auction, live music from the RiverRock Band, good food by Palacios Endowment, and great company.

“Here in Edinburg, funds raised by the “Steak” In Your Community event make an impact on so many lives, said Hernandez.  “Funds raised make possible the youth programs and services in our community and provide access for youth in our community who need us the most. Youth have access to quality educational support through Science Technology Engineering & Math, and the money raised through “Steak” In Your Community is helping further the vision of a world where kids have a safe place to learn and grow.”

“Steak” in Your Community will be moving to the Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance, 118 Paseo Del Prado on February 8, 2020. Tickets are $125 per person, with a limited number of tables available for $1,250 (seats 10). The board of directors would like to extend an invitation to anyone who would like to celebrate with us.
