Eric Garcia, a representative of New York Life, marked a significant milestone on July 1st by beginning his term as President of the Harlingen Sunburst Rotary Club for the 2025–2026 year. Garcia shared the announcement on social media, accompanied by a message that reflects both humility and enthusiasm for his new role in the community.
“Family, friends and colleagues, yesterday July 1st as I started my first official day as President of the Harlingen Sunburst Rotary Club, I am honored and truly blessed to be the incoming President for 2025–2026,” he wrote. Garcia acknowledged feeling “very excited,” but also admitted, “I can also say that I am nervous.” His message conveyed a strong sense of responsibility: “I pray that I can be the leader that you all deserve, and that I can continue with the tremendous leadership that Lisa Seiser provided for us.”
As a member of Rotary International—a global network of local clubs committed to humanitarian service—Garcia emphasized his dedication to community impact. “Here’s to another year of providing as many blessings as possible to the people of our community and surrounding areas,” he stated.
Rotary clubs worldwide operate on the principle of service above self, tackling local and global challenges such as disease prevention, access to clean water, and educational support. Garcia reflected these values in his post, recognizing the strength of his club’s membership. “I’m definitely blessed to have the tremendous support of such amazing members in our club. You all will get my best efforts moving forward this year.”
His closing remarks underscored the club’s shared mission and spiritual foundation: “I look forward to what God has in store for all of us. God’s blessings my Harlingen Sunburst Rotary Club family and much love!”
Garcia’s leadership comes at a time when Rotary clubs, like many community-based organizations, are continuing to rebuild and grow in the aftermath of the pandemic’s disruption. His message is not only a personal declaration but also a testament to the resilience and enduring relevance of service organizations in today’s world.
