The McAllen Chamber of Commerce has had an incredible response from community members across the Rio Grande Valley committing to volunteer at this summer’s premier festival, MXLAN. McAllen’s 5-day interactive arts & music festival celebrates Mexican culture through open-air performances, street food, artisans, and outdoor music. It takes place July 24th– 28th 2019 at the McAllen Convention Center.

“MXLAN is for a new generation and has attracted volunteers of All ages in support of the historic festival,” said Lisa Ramirez, Volunteer Coordinator for MXLAN & Sales Manager at the McAllen Chamber of Commerce. “The volunteer component of MXLAN involves hundreds of volunteers covering more than 1,400 shifts over the 5 days of happenings.”

The McAllen Chamber of Commerce is awarding community service hours, t-shirts, tickets to concerts and eSport events at MXLAN, in exchange for volunteer assistance.

“It’s thrilling to see the community come out in excitement and support of this brand new event. We are very fortunate to have over 200 volunteers give their time to be a part of MXLAN,” said Bonnie Rankin, Intern at the McAllen Chamber of Commerce & Volunteer Coordinator for MXLAN. “This outpouring of support fosters success and we are grateful for every volunteer’s time and effort.”
