EDINBURG, Texas â€“ Border Patrol agents arrest a sex offender in the Rio Grande Valley.

Tuesday evening, Brownsville Border Patrol agents arrested a Mexican national after he illegally entered the United States. During processing, record checks revealed the subject is a registered sex offender with an arrest and conviction out of Houston, Texas, for indecency with a child-sexual contact. Record checks also revealed an outstanding warrant for a probation violation. The subject was subsequently sentenced to ten years’ probation for the indecency with a child-sexual contact conviction and deported in January 2020. 

Border Patrol is processing the subject accordingly.
