SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Rio Grande Valley FC will take on Sacramento Republic FC for the second time this season on Saturday, August 11. Kickoff is scheduled for 10 p.m. (CDT) at Papa Murphy’s Park and the match will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

Saturday’s match will be the second and final time that RGV FC and Republic FC will confront each other in the regular season. The first time the Toros faced Republic FC matchup ended with a 2-2 draw with goals from Todd Wharton (M) and Jorginho James (M).

RGV FC (3-11-7, 20 points) enter the match recovering from a loss on the road to Las Vegas Lights on August 4 that ended with a 0-1. Although the Toros led in shots and shots on goal throughout the game, the Lights managed to put a ball inside the goal in the 82nd minute. As Aldo Quintanilla (F) leads the Toros in shots on target with a total of 15, he fought throughout the game to get the ball at the back of the net and created chances along with Pablo Aguilar (M/F).

Republic FC (11-7-5, 40 points) will attack after a win at home against their rival, Fresno FC, adding to a five-match undefeated streak that began after a loss against Fresno FC. Republic FC has also only lost one home game this season to Reno 1868 FC on May 12. The presence of Cameron Iwasa that leads the Republic FC in goals (10) may be a threat for the Toros who scored on the last confrontation.
