Richard Cortez Officially Kicks Off Campaign for McAllen City Commission District One Seat

McAllen, Texas, February 3, 2015 – “Three tenets have always guided my life: Faith, Family, and Service (to my clients and to my community).” Richard Cortez said,  “I have had the privilege of serving the citizens of McAllen for several years in different capacities, including as an elected member of the Public Utilities Board, as a member of the city’s Audit and Investment Committee, and most recently during two terms as mayor. I would be honored to serve this great city again in the District One seat of the McAllen City Commission.”

The candidate said that he will kick off his campaign on Thursday, February 5, at 5:30 p.m., with family, supporters, and  at Tony Roma’s at 4400 N. 10th Street in McAllen.”

this event is open to the public and learn more about Cortez and about the value he brings to Mayor Jim Darling and the McAllen City Commission. He said, “My years of experience will complement the expertise of the other Commission members and my first-hand knowledge on issues like water and sewer, audits, financial accountability and fiscal responsibility, and border security/trade, among others, allows the city to avoid any learning curve.”
