Civil engineer and construction entrepreneur Ricardo G. Lomelí has been appointed president of the Mexican Chamber of the Construction Industry (CMIC) Mexico City Delegation. With over eight years of experience in the sector, his leadership aims to strengthen the industry and consolidate projects that will benefit the nation’s capital.

The swearing-in ceremony was attended by the Head of Government, Clara Brugada, along with members of her cabinet, highlighting the importance of the collaboration between the public and private sectors in the city’s development. During her speech, Brugada emphasized the key role of the construction industry in Mexico City:

“Hello, everyone. I am very pleased to return to this place, which is the home of Mexico City’s builders,” she said.

She also emphasized the economic and labor strength of the capital, stressing the importance of the financial sector and the highly specialized workforce that distinguishes Mexico City from other states:

“Here in Mexico City, we also have the strongest financial system in the country. We have a specialized workforce that no other state can offer,” Brugada affirmed.

In her address, she also called for job creation as a fundamental strategy for the city’s economic and social development:

“The best thing we can do in this city is to create jobs. And that is what you do. I am here to commit myself to ensuring that this continues. The best social program is having a job, and that responsibility lies with investors, whom we will support,” concluded Brugada.

For his part, Lomelíexpressed his enthusiasm and commitment to the sector, emphasizing the crucial role of collaboration between entrepreneurs and the government in advancing the city’s infrastructure growth.

“I feel very fortunate to have such an excellent swearing-in event as President of CMIC CDMX, alongside Head of Government Clara Brugada and part of her cabinet. Thank you!” said Lomelí as he assumed his new role. His words reflect both his enthusiasm and responsibility in leading this important organization.

Lomelí’s appointment represents a significant boost for the construction industry in Mexico City.
