McALLEN, Texas – As the new year unfolds, a collective of women of faith are stepping into global visibility with stories rooted in surrender, resilience, and divine restoration.
Si Diosito Quiere, Mija (God Willing, Daughter) — a groundbreaking anthology curated by award-winning author Eliza M. Garza — recently transformed Times Square into a public declaration of faith, identity, and legacy. Featuring twenty-one women and testimonies, the anthology brings deeply personal stories of breaking points turned breakthroughs to one of the most visible stages in the world.

The project was born in South Texas and published by Mija Media House, a Latina-led publishing house founded by Garza in the Rio Grande Valley. The majority of the women featured in the anthology are from the RGV, with additional contributors spanning cities across the United States, a reflection of a local movement carrying national resonance.
“This moment carries purpose,” says Garza. “The spotlight isn’t the goal. It’s the vessel. If even one person looks up and feels less alone, the story fulfilled its calling.”
Rooted in faith and cultural identity, Si Diosito Quiere, Mija reflects a growing shift in publishing as independent, community-based creators step confidently into the cultural mainstream. From the Rio Grande Valley to Times Square, the project demonstrates how regional voices can influence national discourse when given space to be seen and heard.
Beyond the anthology, Garza continues to expand the Si Diosito Quiere, Mija movement through upcoming community gatherings, speaking engagements, and a growing ecosystem that includes a devotional, podcast, and faith-centered mastermind designed to help women transform pain into purpose and align their lives with divine direction.
Si Diosito Quiere, Mija (God Willing, Daughter) is available in both English and Spanish through Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
