McALLEN ISD
Due to extreme weather, McAllen ISD will be cancelling classes and all school activities on Tuesday, Jan. 21.
The District will still have a delayed start to school on Wednesday, Jan. 22. Classes will start one hour later than usual. Buses will adjust their route times to pick up students one hour later. Staff will report to school at the usual time in case parents wish to drop off their children at normal drop off times.
PSJA ISD
The Pharr-San-Juan-Alamo has cancelled classes on Tuesday, January 21st. Classes will be delayed on Wednesday.
SHARYLAND ISD
Monday, January 20, 2025 – No Changes
• Regular school day; no delays or modifications anticipated.
• Please send your child with a jacket and/or extra layers, as temperatures may be cooler at dismissal.
• Most extracurricular activities have been canceled. However, please check with your child’s coach for any high school events.
Tuesday, January 21, 2025 – School Canceled
• All school and district activities, including afterschool care, are canceled.
• No one should be on campus.
• January’s School Board Meeting is also canceled.
Wednesday, January 22, 2025 – Delayed Start
• Two-hour delay: Instruction will begin at 10:00 AM.
• Cafeterias open at 9:00 AM.
• Breakfast served from 9:00 – 9:45 AM at all campuses.
• Bus routes will run on a two-hour delay.
• Elementary afterschool care will remain open with standard hours.
• Extracurricular & athletic activities: Check with your child’s coach or sponsor for specific details. Outdoor activities will follow the district’s cold weather policy.

WESLACO ISD
Weslaco school districtHas cancelled classes on Tuesday, and delayed the start of classes on Wednesday.
EDINBURG CISD
School Is Cancelled Tuesday January 21, 2025, due to most weather models predicting sub-freezing temperatures and icy road conditions beginning on Monday night through at least 12 noon on Tuesday in the Edinburg area and especially in Northern Hidalgo County, we are cancelling classes on Tuesday (1/21), due to freezing weather and icy conditions.Make-up day would be April 21(Easter Monday). The rest of the week stays on normal schedule.
MISSION CISD
Mission CISD said the district will be closed for all students and staff on Tuesday. Wednesday will operate on a two-hour delay. Buses will also operate on a two-hour delay, in addition to no uniforms being required this week.
BROWNSVILLE ISD
Brownsville classes and district operations will be canceled on Tuesday, January 21st.
Wednesday will begin with a 2 hour delay.
SOUTH TEXAS ISD
Classes will be delayed on Tuesday
STC
Due to severe winter weather conditions and with safety top of mind, South Texas College administration has announced it will close all campuses on Tuesday, January 21.
There will also be no face-to-face classes this Tuesday.
In addition, STC will have a delayed opening of 10 a.m. for all students, faculty and staff for Wednesday, January 22.
