RGV VIPERS ACQUIRE RIGHTS TO HAMADY N’DIAYE IN TRADE WITH DELAWARE

MCALLEN, Texas, January 12, 2015 – Rio Grande Valley Vipers General Manager Gianluca Pascucci today announced that the Vipers have acquired the returning player rights to Hamady N’Diaye from the Delaware 87ers in exchange for the returning player rights to Maalik Wayns.

N’Diaye (7-0, 235, Rutgers) was the 56th overall pick the in the 2010 NBA Draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves. His rights were traded to the Washington Wizards, where he played from 2010-12. N’Diaye also played for the Sacramento Kings during the 2012-13 season.

N’Diaye played four seasons at Rutgers from 2006-10 and garnered Big East Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2010.

This week the Vipers travel to Santa Cruz, Calif. to play in the annual NBA D-League Showcase. RGV’s first game is Friday, Jan. 16 at noon (CT) versus the Erie BayHawks. RGV’s second Showcase matchup is versus the Reno Bighorns Sunday, Jan. 18 at 9 p.m. (CT).
