EDINBURG, Texas – Border Patrol agents arrested three sex offenders after entering the United States illegally.
On Saturday, McAllen agents working near Los Ebanos, Texas, arrested a Guatemalan national whose record checks revealed a prior arrest in the state of California. Records indicated that the Marin County Sheriff’s office arrested the man and charged him with sex with a minor (3+ years younger) and served 179 days confinement along with 36 month’s probation.
Monday afternoon, Weslaco agents working near Hidalgo, Texas, arrested 25 illegal aliens consisting on family units. During processing, record checks for a Guatemalan national, traveling with his child, revealed a previous arrest and conviction in West Virginia for sexual abuse in the third degree. The man received a sentence of 90 days confinement.
Tuesday night, Weslaco agents working near Progeso, Texas, arrested a Salvadoran national whose record checks revealed a previous arrest in the state of Texas. The Denton County Sheriff’s Office arrested the man and charged him with indecency with a child sexual contact / aggravated sexual assault of a child.
