EDINBURG, Texas – Border Patrol agents arrested two sex offenders and a gang member after entering the United States illegally.
On Thursday, agents working near Weslaco, Texas, arrested a Mexican national whose record checks revealed an arrest for kidnapping and rape by the Pennsylvania State Police in the city of Avondale. The presiding judge sentenced the man to 2 years and 6 months confinement.
On Sunday, McAllen agents working near Penitas, Texas, arrested a Salvadoran national whose record checks revealed is an 18th Street Gang member.
On Monday, Weslaco agents working near Hidalgo, Texas, arrested a Salvadoran national after he entered the United States illegally. During processing, record checks revealed an arrest by the Herndon, Virginia, Police Department for sexual battery. The man received a sentence of one year and 10 months confinement.
