Pharr, Texas – A teacher from Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD was recently recognized by the RGV Science Association for her dedication and contribution toward the science field. Dr. Long Elementary Science Teacher Sandra Gonzalez was named the 2018 Elementary Teacher of the Year.
Members of the RGV Science Association surprised Gonzalez with the award at her campus on Wednesday, May 2. Some of her students and colleagues joined to celebrate her achievement.
“It makes me feel like I touched the lives of my students and had a part in them being more fascinated with the outdoors and science, “said Gonzalez who has worked at PSJA ISD for 16 years. “I feel that this award is a reflection on our campus and the care we put into nurturing the students’ love for learning.” Congratulations!
