MISSION, Texas — The Rio Grande Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will honor the 2026 recipients of its Women of Distinction Awards during the annual Hats Off to Women of Distinction Awards & Expo on Thursday, March 5, at the Mission Event Center (200 N. Shary Road).

The Women of Distinction Awards celebrate women whose leadership, innovation, and service are shaping the Rio Grande Valley across business, education, healthcare, media, justice, environmental advancement, and community development. Honorees are nominated by members of the Rio Grande Valley community and selected by the Rio Grande Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Women’s Initiatives Committee.

Awards will be presented during an evening program bringing together regional leaders, entrepreneurs, and community advocates to recognize women whose work strengthens the regional economy and expands opportunity throughout South Texas.

“These honorees reflect the strength, talent, and leadership found throughout our region,” said Cynthia Sakulenzki, president and CEO of the Rio Grande Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. “They were nominated by their community and selected for the meaningful impact they continue to make.”

The Hats Off to Women of Distinction Awards & Expo is a signature annual event of the Rio Grande Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, dedicated to elevating women leaders and celebrating excellence across industries.
