Kansas City, Missouri, June 7th – The Rio Grande Valley FC Toros (5-2-4) look to extend their six-game unbeaten streak on the road when they face Swope Park Rangers (3-5-2) on Wednesday, June 8th at 7:30p.m. This will be the second time the two teams face each other this season; The Toros won 4-1 on the first encounter.
The Toros have not met defeat since their first home game on April 30th to hands of LA Galaxy II. The team will want to make it two wins in a row this Wednesday. Rio Grande Valley hosted in-state rival San Antonio FC last Saturday, June 4th. After the game was delayed due to a storm, the Toros got the three points thanks to a Kevin Garcia header late in the first half.
Swope Park Rangers last played against Portland Timbers 2. The Portland Timbers scored on the 26th minute on a free kick that was given after a handball. Neco Brett was the scorer. The Timbers 2 extended their lead in the 69th minute with a Victor Arboleda goal. Mark Anthony Gonzalez scored for Swope Park Rangers to cut the Timber’s lead. Swope Park Rangers fell to Portland 2-1.
After the Toros face Swope Park Rangers, the Toros return home to face Oklahoma City Energy FC on June 11th at UTRGV. The match will kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
