EDINBURG, TX – Rio Grande Valley Border Patrol Sector (RGV) agents arrest two Mara-Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang members and a migrant previously convicted of sexual crimes involving a child.
McAllen Border Patrol Station (MCS) agents apprehended a Honduran national shortly after illegally entering the United States in McAllen, Texas. The man was transported to a Border Patrol facility for processing. During processing, agents discovered his affiliation with the MS-13 gang.
Hours later, MCS agents apprehended a subject from Guatemala, who was later determined to be a MS-13 gang member following a criminal record checks query. Record checks also listed a prior arrest in Miami, Florida for false statements in the application of a passport. He was convicted and sentenced to eight months imprisonment.
MCS agents working near Madero, Texas, arrested two subjects shortly after they illegally entered the United States. During processing, record checks later identified Cristian Flamenco, a Salvadorian national who was previously arrested by the Los Angeles County Sherriff’s Office in Los Angeles, California, for forcible oral copulation with a minor under 14 years old. The subject was convicted and sentenced to 12 years’ incarceration. The public is encouraged to take a stand against crime in their communities and report suspicious activity at 800-863-9382.
