EDINBURG, Texas – Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol agents arrest three illegal aliens who were discovered to have previous convictions for sexual assault.
Last night, Texas Department of Public Safety State troopers foiled an attempted smuggling case near Refugio, Texas. Three illegal aliens were turned over to the Corpus Christi Border Patrol Station. At the station, record checks on Samuel LOPEZ-Barrios (AKA: MARTINEZ-Prado, Andres), revealed a previous arrest in Sherman, Texas, in 2002 for Sexual Assault of a Child. LOPEZ-Barrios was convicted and was sentenced to eight years confinement.
Hours later, Weslaco Border Patrol agents working near Hidalgo, Texas, apprehended six subjects after they illegally entered the United States. The group was transported to the station where records checks revealed that one subject, later identified as Herrera-Cazares, Isaias, a 38 year old Mexican national, had previously been arrested by the Hidalgo County Sherriff’s Office for Indecency with a Child/Sexual Contact. Herrera-Cazares, Isaias was subsequently found guilty and was sentenced to five years confinement.
Last night, McAllen Border Patrol agents arrested Rafael MORALES-Perez a Mexican national near Hidalgo, Texas. During processing, record checks revealed a previous arrest by the Woodburn Police Department in the state of Oregon, for Sexual Abuse 1st Degree. A judge subsequently found him guilty and sentenced MORALES-Perez to 16 months confinement.
Border Patrol will process all subjects accordingly.
