LAREDO, Texas – Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) was sworn into the U.S. House of Representatives to represent the 28th Congressional District of Texas in the 118th Congress at Laredo City Hall.
After the ceremony, Congressman Cuellar released the following statement:
“I am grateful and honored that the people of my district have once again chosen me to be their voice in Congress,” said Congressman Cuellar. “I will return to Washington as a Senior Member of the House Appropriations Committee and continue fighting to improve education, expand access to affordable health care, secure our communities and border, and create more well-paying jobs across Texas-28.”
Congressman Cuellar continued: “During the 118th Congress, I intend to continue delivering for the working families in my district. I trust that, by working together, we will create a better South Texas for our children and future generations. Once again, I want to thank my family and everyone else for their unwavering trust and support.”
Congressman Henry Cuellar is a senior member of the House Appropriations Committee and Chief Deputy Whip. He previously served as a Texas State Representative and Texas Secretary of State. Throughout his tenure of public service, Congressman Cuellar has secured many victories for South Texas with an emphasis on education, healthcare, job creation and security.
