WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) was sworn into the U.S. House of Representatives to represent Texas’ 28th Congressional District in the 118th Congress. The Congressman released the following statement:

“The people have spoken, and I am grateful to be representing the 28th Congressional District of Texas in the 118th Congress. I will return to Washington as a senior member of the House Appropriations Committee and continue to be an advocate for South Texas, especially in the areas of education, healthcare, job creation, and security,” said Congressman Cuellar.

“In the 118th Congress, I will prioritize education by expanding financial aid for every child and guaranteeing them access to college. I will prioritize healthcare by fighting for affordable treatment and medication for South Texans, especially those with pre-existing conditions. I will prioritize job creation by cutting taxes and red tape that stifle innovation. And I will prioritize security by listening to our local law enforcement and the men and women in green and blue to restore order at our southern border.
