The Brownsville Community Improvement Corporation (BCIC) announces the Brownsville ReOpen for Business Forgivable Loan Program – Round 2 application period is now open.
BCIC and the City of Brownsville have partnered together to offer businesses located within the City of Brownsville a zero-interest forgivable financing in response to the economic hardships experienced by small businesses resulting from the COVID-19 virus. This unique financing tool offers forgivable loans to small businesses operating in the City of Brownsville that have been negatively affected by the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus in an effort to retain jobs and stabilize local businesses.
Businesses must demonstrate hardship caused by the COVID-19 virus outbreak in order to qualify for financing. Under this program, businesses with fifteen (15) or fewer employees are eligible to apply for funds, up to $10,000, which will be used to pay for normal businesses expenses. Businesses must have a physical location in the City of Brownsville and have experienced loss due to COVID-19. BCIC is accepting a limited number of applications. Application will be accepted through May 28, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. or when the max number of applications have been received;whichever comes first.
