Raquel Mahe, creator of the Te Cuento Algo podcast, was recognized during the Women with Purpose celebration for her work in creating a platform that highlights community voices and personal stories in the Rio Grande Valley.

Mahe also served as the event emcee, welcoming attendees and setting the tone for the gathering. She described the event as “a space where stories inspire, where voices are lifted up, and where we are reminded that every woman possesses a unique and powerful purpose.”

In her role, Mahe introduced representatives from partner organizations, inviting them to share their contributions to the community. She said they would “briefly share the support they offer and how they contribute to the well-being of our community,” before calling participants to the front.

Mahe was selected for her efforts through the Te Cuento Algo podcast, which she described as “a space filled with trust—a place where every voice in the community has a spot to be heard.” She emphasized the importance of storytelling as a way to build connection and understanding, adding, “We all have a story to tell.”

Her work focuses on creating an environment where individuals can share experiences openly and find solidarity through dialogue. The podcast aims to amplify voices within the community and encourage meaningful conversations.

Among the organizers was Robertha Garza through Mujeres Arriba RGV as part of its seventh annual celebration commemorating International Women’s Month, recognizing the leadership and contributions of women across the region.
