BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Greater Brownsville proudly announces the success of the third annual Rally In The Valley event. Held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at the Brownsville Events Center, Rally In The Valley 3.0 surpassed expectations by bringing together over 400 high school students, 50 employers, state commissioners, city officials, and industry leaders for a day of networking, exploration, and internship opportunities.
Rally In The Valley 3.0 connected high school students with prominent industry partners, offering internship opportunities and insights into future career pathways. Through initiatives like Rally In The Valley, Greater Brownsville aims to bridge the gap between education and industry, preparing students for successful careers while contributing to the economic vitality of the region.
“Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) partners with Greater Brownsville through our Texas Interns Unite! Initiative to host events like Rally In The Valley,” stated Joe Esparza, TWC Commissioner Representing Employers. “Internships are one of many work-based learning opportunities that help create a pipeline of skilled workers and ensure that Texas remains the best state in the nation to do business.”
Karla de la Riva, Workforce Director at Greater Brownsville, emphasized the organization’s commitment to preparing students for successful careers. “We are dedicated to equipping students with the skills and opportunities they need to thrive in the workforce and contribute to the economic growth of our region.”
The event featured engaging activities such as mock interviews across multiple industries, enabling students to gain firsthand knowledge from industry professionals. Through interactive sessions and networking opportunities, Rally In The Valley empowered students to make informed decisions about their future career paths while fostering valuable connections with potential employers.
