Success happens over and over again, even when critics’ opinions say it is impossible. Ellie Torres, currently a trustee of the Edinburg Independent School District, recently ran a campaign against the incumbent Hidalgo County CommissionerPrecinct 4 Joseph Palacios.
Palacios had been the commissioner for Precinct 4 for the last seven years, and overall it seemed that constituents were on his side. In politics, sometimes what seems to be crystal clear, is not. Even experienced political experts have predicted with one hundred percent assurance the outcome of an election, and in the end, they are proven wrong. Such is the case of Torres; it appeared that Palacios was the favorite based on comments of the general public.
May is the month of celebration of all Moms; we have the pleasure of featuring Ellie Torres, a mother, and grandmother. She is an outstanding woman who proves to be brave and triumphant. She inspires all of us to go after the impossible. Read her story; you’ll like it.
