PHARR – As a way to continue to virtually engage middle school students in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, the PSJA Career and Technical Education Department will be hosting virtual summer camps through June 18.

During the Middle School Virtual STEM Camp, students will have the opportunity to engage in activities focusing on problem solving, creative solutions and collaboration related to STEM.

Participants will also be exposed to the career options within the fields. With the Middle School Virtual Technology Camp, students will be able to gain valuable technology skills that are essential as they prepare to be college and career ready. It will dive into Microsoft applications to enhance their technology skills for future coursework and employment.

According to PSJA ISD CTE Director Adriana Garcia, the program is a great way to expand student thinking to possible career pathways as they enter high school.

“Students should want to participate so they can keep up with the latest technology skills as well as gain foundational knowledge and skills that will benefit them for their future,” Garcia said. “The summer program will also provide an opportunity for them to work with other middle school students from throughout our district.”

The four-day camps will be divided between morning and afternoon sessions over the course of four weeks. The morning sessions will run from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm and the afternoon sessions will be from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm.

The dates of operation are as follow:
